Practicing Criminal Defense since 2000
Mr. Chacon was a key figure in my life by helping to prevent it from getting any worse than it already was at the time. I needed a lawyer and, also, to change the negative course of my life. I had put myself in a position where I felt that most people wouldn't be interested in hearing my story, yet alone find a reason to help me. Also, my situation in court seemed as if paying for a lawyer would be a waste of money. How can a lawyer help get rid of four counts? What type of lawyer could hyelp with even the one battery charge? It seemed as if I might as well go to jail, save money, and deal with the criminal record I'd have, since help seemed impossible with, or without, money. Who would buy my story about resisting arrest? Not to mention my skin color is quite tanned and the peace officer was quite the opposite. I literally lost hope. In the past I graduated high school, held two full time jobs and was doing well for myself up until I hurt myself working and was prescribed medication for a muscle tear. I slowly started making bad decisions. I was young and found myself in a hold and needed help to get back out. I always wanted to be something in life and always knew I would one day. What I didn't know was how hard life can be simply because of other people and the situations and events that unfold around you. I didn't know how people in my life can effect the way I act and make decisions. Neither was I prepared for some of the events that happened after high school. All the hope that I had built, dreams I had and even the name I had built for myself was now being threatened by my mistakes. The sotry of life was turning into a chapter that needed to be titled "start over". I needed one more chance. I mean, I was only 21, how could I accept such a negative outcome in my life so early on in the story. I had just enough hope to drive to downtown L.A. right across from the county jail. I When I first stepped into Chacon's office, I thought to myself, "This guy is probably just going to see me as those people across the street, a criminal." Right off the tope, he was a nice guy and fast paced like me, which I really liked. I told Chacon my charges and my story and then heard how he could help me. I was excited. I felt as though God was giving me back some hope I had lost. So much it really seemed to good to be true. That night, I asked my parents about this guy and how he sounded too good to be true. It was so much, I said maybe I should just go to jail and save my parents money. But, my mom had a friend from the neighborhood that knew him and when I looked at his website and all of his accomplishments in school, and life, I felt a lot better about this guy Chacon. Well, Richard Chacon got all of the charged dropped but one out of four counts. Only one charge was kept and even I knew I had to learn a lesson from all of this, so the one charge was probably a good thing. He motivated me to go back to school. Not just by believing in me, but by just entering my life. I don't know what he saw in me, but the fact that he saw something restored lost hope. Life is a challenge and the only way to get through a challenge is to move forward. I am able to do that without a record thanks to Richard Chacon."
I owe a big part of my future to Richard Chacon. A pretty serious charge was filed against me recently. I was extremely unfamiliar and unprepared for what I was up against. Mr. Chacon was knowledgeable and dependable at every step of the process. I was reluctant to fight the matter in court and came really close to accepting a plea. A choice that had very difficult, long term consequences and repercussions involved. I put my trust in Rich and in his expertise. He advised me to stand up for myself and my rights. Good things happen for those that are willing to rise to the occasion. But he did it in a way that was practical and never misleading. It was not “false hope” or “false promise”. It was real hope and a real promise. We took the case to trial and I was found “Not Guilty”! What an incredible feeling! I have so much to look forward to now, thanks to Richard Chacon.
Richard Chacon is an incredible attorney who helped me with my DUI case in Los Angeles. After speaking to Richard for the first time, I knew that he was the attorney that I needed in my corner. I live out-of-state and came to visit Los Angeles for the weekend. I got pulled over while driving on the highway and could not take care of the issue since I was flying back to my home state the following morning. Some time went by and the tickets turned into warrants. I contacted Richard Chacon and requested his assistance. Not only was his retainer reasonable, but he went above and beyond the call of duty. He always gave me the best and worst case scenarios for my case, but he always got the best results. He was able to handle my entire case without me having to fly to California. He also handled my suspended driver’s license with the DMV for me, as well. The icing on the cake was that he had my charges reduced so that a DUI does not show up on my record and my fines were reduced to almost nothing. His service was remarkable. Within minutes of up updates to my case, Rich would call me to discuss changes and outcomes. I hope that I never need another attorney in Los Angeles, but if I do, I know that my best option is Richard. Richard – Thank you very much for your help and for resolving my problem. I could not be happier with the service, support and outcome. If anyone is seeking an attorney in the Los Angeles area, you must call Richard Chacon first.
