Richard has successfully represented both men and women in criminal proceedings from the time of their arrest, sometimes even prior to the arrest, up until and through trial. He has completed jury trials on everything from Driving Under the Influence to Murder.
Richard has successfully represented young men and women in the juvenile proceedings from arrest through adjudications.
Richard has successfully represented men and women in hearings involving the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Parole Board, the Labor Board and even the Franchise Tax Board.
Richard successfully represented countless young men and women in proceedings involving the Admissions Committees of both USC and UCLA. In fact, he represented some of the most famous football players in proceeding following their arrests; some with criminal charges pending and some without those concerns.
Richard has defended countless clients against restraining orders. On a rare occasion he has helped a client to obtain a restraining order when good cause exists.
Richard has helped countless men and women expunge their criminal records following their successful completion of probation. He has also assisted with an early termination of probation and expungement.
If there were not grounds for a person to be arrested, it is possible to seek a “Declaration of Factual Innocence” from the police department, the prosecutor and/or the judge. This is very difficult to achieve. However, Richard has successfully achieved this.
It is possible to have the Governor grant an individual a Certificate of Rehabilitation following their conviction and, even, incarceration. Richard has helped one individual seek this and was successful with the first step of the superior court granting an Order for gubernatorial review. The Governor’s review is currently pending.
